EIN January 2026 General Assembly

On 26 January, EIN members gathered online for our annual General Assembly. Due to extraordinary circumstances, the meeting, initially scheduled for June 2025, could not take place at the statutory date and was postponed for a few months. The EIN Secretariat was delighted to welcome 27 of its members (plus 2 other members represented by a proxy).

At the meeting, major documents for the life of the Network were discussed and adopted, such as the annual accounts, and the planned budgets for the two next years. It was also a unique opportunity for EIN members to take stock of the work achieved by the network in 2024, with, among other, 20 cases included in the agenda of the briefings to the Committee of Ministers throughout the year; close to 200 Rule 9 submitted in 2024 that benefited from a form of support from EIN, including 54 draft Rule 9.2 submissions reviewed; and several large-scale projects carried out simultaneously.

This General Assembly was also the occasion to elect part of our new Board. Following the elections, we are happy to welcome our newly-elected Board members:

  • Christian De Vos, Visiting Assistant Professor of Law, CUNY School of Law, New York (United States of America) (re-election);

  • Association for the Defence of Human Rights in Romania (APADOR-CH), represented by Ecaterina-Georgiana Georghe, Executive Director (Romania);

  • Hungarian Helsinki Committee (HHC), represented by Renata Uitz (Hungary);

  • Committee on the Administration of Justice (CAJ), represented by Daniel Holder, Director (Northern Ireland);

  • Human Rights House Zagreb (HRHZ), represented by Ivan Novosel, Director of Programs (Croatia);

  • Dr. Ramute Remezaite, Senior Legal Consultant and Implementation Lead, European Human Rights Advocacy Centre (EHRAC) (Lithuania);

  • Promo-LEX Association, represented by Vadim Vieru, Program Director (Moldova).

We would like to thank all EIN members for their commitment and engagement in the Network!
